Every vintage item we sell is authentically 20 year old or older. Together with our collection of future vintage, these special pieces have been carefully merchandised from the most credible vintage experts in the world. They have an unrivaled contemporary approach to vintage fashion. We’re establishing the first-ever quality and contemporary style standard for authentic and future vintage fashion, giving you access to vintage stores and appointment-only showrooms from around the world on one site. We have just one checkout process, and all your orders will be shipped to you directly from the store or showroom itself.

Byronesque.com is a consignment portal for vintage retailers around the world. Based in New York, NY, U.S.A, we only sell vintage items that are in very good condition, but sometimes, something is so special that we forgive and revere the scars that tell its own unique story.

If an item does have scars, you’ll be able to see them very clearly in our product shots before deciding to make your purchase. They are also listed in a condition report, unique to each item, so you know exactly what you’re getting.

SIZE GUIDE

Standard sizes have changed over the years and what was considered to be one size 20 years ago or more can be an entirely different size today—so you have to go by the measurements of an item to know if it’s going to fit. You’ll see the exact measurements in each item description and condition report.

HOW WE MEASURE

Apparel

SHOULDERS from shoulder tip to shoulder tip.
SLEEVES from highest point of shoulder seam to the cuff.
HIPS around the hips at the top of the legs.
BUST around the fullest part of the bust.
WAIST around the slimmest part of the waistline.
RISE from the top of the waistband to the crotch.
LENGTH from the highest point of the back of the garment, from the neckline or waist to the hem.
‘OPEN’ OR ‘OS’ means there’s plenty of room or one-size.

Accessories

SHOES length from base of sole to the tip of the toe, width across instep of sole and heel height from sole to tip of the heel.
BAGS & WALLETS weight, width, height, depth and handle drop, minimum and maximum strap length.
BRACELETS & CUFFS width and length or inner and outer circumference.
RINGS Circumference.
SCARFS width and length.
BELT width and length, minimum and maximum hole.
GLOVES width at fullest part of the hand and length from tip of middle finger to cuff.
HATS height, inside circumference and outer brim.
NECKLACES width and drop.
EARRINGS width and drop.
BROOCHES width and length.
GLASSES width from arm to arm, width and length of lens.

Care Instructions

The clothes and accessories we sell have inspired and outlived landfills of imitations, and we encourage you to take the moral and style high-ground by taking them to a cleaning specialist who has experience caring for vintage items and knows how to preserve their condition.

Our preferred storage partner is Garde Robe ®. Byronesque members receive discounted rates on their climate controlled, museum-quality storage and maintenance for vintage, couture and collectable clothing. Just tell them we sent you.

All our items have been professionally cleaned prior to shipping.

FUR AND EXOTIC SKINS

We don’t sell any items made from fur or exotic skins.

CREATING AN ONLINE ACCOUNT

While you don’t need to have a paid subscription to shop with us, you do need to register for an account. Your information is stored and used according to the terms of the then-current privacy policy.

RETRIEVE YOUR ACCOUNT PASSWORD

To retrieve your password, you will be asked to submit the email address you signed up with. Follow the link in the email we send back to you and you can input and confirm a new password from there. Click here to retrieve your account password.

CANCELLATIONS

Unfortunately, once an order has been submitted, we are unable to change or cancel it.

RETURNS AND EXCHANGES

We know that for various reasons you may need to return an item you ordered from us. However, we currently only accept returned items purchased from One of A Kind, London, and Vintage Le Monde, Maryland. If you need to return an item, please email your request to returns@byronesque.com. Include the order number in your message and we’ll make it as quick and easy for you as possible. Here’s how it works:

∗   Returns must be requested within 3 days of receipt of shipment.

∗   Items must be returned within 1 week after the returns approval is issued.

∗   Items must be returned unused, with the Byronesque label intact and in the original Byronesque packaging, as shipped by the retailer. Any items returned without the Byronesque label attached or in packaging other than the original packaging will be refused.

∗   Please note: There is a 30% restocking fee on items returned for any reason other than damage or defect.

∗   Refunds will be issued within 7 to 10 days after the retailer has received your returned item in its original condition.

∗   If you are returning an item for a reason other than damage or defect, you will be responsible for all shipping costs.

Shipping

We accept orders from all around the world. Shipping rates, delivery times and fees vary depending on the delivery address for your order, and there may be limitations on where Byronesque.com can ship to. Our estimated delivery time for your order is based on how quickly we can process your payment information and ship your items, your shipping address and the shipping speed and options you choose. Customs clearance procedures can cause delays beyond our original delivery estimates.

We ship worldwide via FedEx with services from DHL in the U.K and France. Saturday delivery for international shipments is available at an additional cost. Services vary between countries and not all levels of service are available in all countries. Shipping is calculated at checkout.

All domestic DHL shipments made within the U.K and France are charged at a flat rate of $25.00 and delivered within 1-2 business days.

TRACKING

You can track where your order is by logging into your account at Byronesque.com and clicking on "Purchase History."

CHECKING YOUR ORDER STATUS

Depending on how quickly we can process your payment, our retail partners endeavor to process and ship within approximately two business days from the date your order is received. We will notify you if there is a delay in processing your order.

Our retail partners use FedEx to ship all international orders and DHL for all domestic shipments within the U.K and France. All items are insured against theft and accidental damage for the declared value of the item, which is the item price excluding shipping, customs and sales taxes. Once your item has been delivered, it is no longer insured.

You’ll receive two emails from us: one confirming we received your order and another with the tracking number and confirmation that your order has shipped. If you have ordered from more than one retailer, you will receive a shipping confirmation from each retailer.

If, for some reason, our retail partners are unable to fulfill your order or unable to ship your order within 2 business days of your completed order, we will contact you at the email address you provided for either your consent to the delay or to request a full refund.

If you don’t receive your order within the shipping timeframe you selected at checkout, please contact us at customerservice@byronesque.com and we’ll look into it for you. We respond to emails within 24 hours.

PACKAGING

In the spirit of creating less waste, we make an effort to use as little packaging as possible, while still ensuring that your item arrives safely in our signature reusable bags.

DAMAGED OR LOST ORDERS

If your order is damaged or lost during shipping, you can choose an immediate full refund, including shipping, and we will try our best to find a replacement for you using our personal shopping service. Please note this is a one-time only replacement service.

If your item has been damaged during shipping, please email us at customerservice@byronesque.com including the order number in your message and we will email you a shipping label and returns slip. Please return the item in its original packaging. As soon as we’ve received your item and checked that the damage is new and not a previously identified ‘scar’, we’ll immediately refund your credit card.

Payment

PROCESSING

Your credit card will be charged at time of purchase. We’ll contact you by email if there are any changes to your order.

PAYMENT METHODS

We accept American Express, Visa, MasterCard and JCB. All payments are made in U.S. Dollars. However, you can check what the estimated price of an item in pounds, euros and yen will be before deciding to make your purchase.

SALES TAX AND CUSTOMS DUTIES

You are responsible for insuring that your order can be lawfully imported to the destination country. When ordering from Byronesque.com, the recipient is the importer of record and must comply with all laws and regulations of the destination country.

Customers Purchasing Outside of their Country of Residence

For customers purchasing items located outside their county of residence, prices for each item are shown as Delivered At Place (DAP). This means that when shopping from retailers outside of the country you reside, import duties and taxes are excluded from our prices. We currently don’t include customs charges in the total cost of your purchase. Specific to your country of residence, you will be responsible for paying these charges on delivery of your order.

Contact us at customerservice@byronesque.com for a courtesy customs charge quote. Please note that we can only provide estimated customs charges and the final cost to receive your order may differ.

Customers Purchasing Inside of their Country of Residence

For customers purchasing items located inside their county of residence, prices exclude domestic sales tax. Specific to your country of residence, you may have to pay sales tax or Value Added Tax (VAT) to receive your items. These charges will be included in the final price of your purchase, and are clearly identified at check out.

Customers Residing in the European Union purchasing items located in the European Union

For customers residing in the European Union purchasing items located inside the European Union, prices exclude Value Added Tax. Specific to the country where the goods are located, you will have to pay Value Added Tax (VAT) to receive your items. These charges will be included in the final price of your purchase, and are clearly identified at check out.

On occasion, goods may be subject to delay, due to customs or other uncontrollable circumstance. The recipient is also responsible for providing any destination information or additional documentation that may be required by customs to ensure the goods are cleared. For information on any destination documentation requirements or duty and tax questions please contact your local customs department.

PURCHASES MADE DIRECTLY FROM A BYRONESQUE STORE OR SHOWROOM

We’re here to help you with your Byronesque.com purchase. However, if you purchased an item from one of our stores or showrooms that was not for sale on Byronesque.com, please contact the store or showroom directly.

Please note that our retailers cannot negotiate the price or sell items that are for sale on Byronesque.com with customers directly.
